Units studied in IS7 center around topics related to:  Biochemistry  Genetics  Structure and function  Biotechnology  Students engage in minds-on inquiry and hands- on explorations, productive discourse, and purposeful reading and writing  Students engage in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in order to propose solutions to identified problems

Seventh grade students trace the development of civilizations in Europe, Africa, and the Americas. They will study:  Europe with an exploration of political systems of the Middle Ages  Trade kingdoms of Africa  Cultures of the Pre-Columbian America  Renaissance  Age of exploration

 Develop general fitness and skills through team sports, individual activities and developmental activities  Activities include soccer, softball, volleyball, dance, lacrosse, tennis, table tennis, badminton, track and field, weight training Topics covered in Health include:  Mental and emotional health  Tobacco, alcohol and other drugs  Nutrition and fitness  Safety and injury prevention  Family life and human sexuality  Disease prevention and control
