How Not to Meet a Military Pilot Avoiding a Midair between Military & General Aviation

HISTORY OF MIDAIRS  Since 1978 in the United States, there have been an annual average of 30 aircraft midair collisions resulting in an average 75 deaths per year.  Over 450 Near Midair Collisions (NMAC) are reported each year.  That doesn’t include those that don’t get reported  Jan 05 midair over Oklahoma between a T-37 and a crop duster highlights the ongoing problem

 Airspace Manager for Marines Corps Installation West (MCIWEST)  We manage all USMC airspace in Arizona and California  Help you understand what we do in our airspace. Who we Are & Why We Are Here

 Identify Potential Hazards  Create Awareness  Learn How To Fly Safe MACA OBJECTIVES

29 Palms Land/Airspace Expansion  29 Palms has been identified by CNO for land expansion to meet Marine Corps future mission needs  EIS being completed, a preferred alternative will be identified  Once that is done the USMC will contact FAA and submit airspace proposal.  The airspace requested will be in direct support of land expansion.
