Grundtvig Learning Partnerships Project ”The development of ex-prisoners' integration into the labour market” DEPILM 1-st Partners Meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania, 2010 October 15

15-th Friday Meeting at Labdariu Street nr Partners share the roles of each organization in the project, a draft content of methodology is prepared Lunch at restaurant – Introduction to project’s timetable, needed outcomes etc – Discussion about the project’s ideas, possible practises Supper at Belmontas It is planned to prepare the draft of ideas for methodology after the discussion.

DEPILM The project aim is through informal learning and cooperation: prepare an international methodology for European countries providing know - how and information to help convicts and persons released from places of imprisonment to integrate into the labour market.

The goal to gather cases of good practice, summarize them to develop a structural method, ready for application. to improve the qualifications of social workers, volunteers and trainers to find means how to integrate convicts and persons released from places of imprisonment to social life and labour market through education.

Objectives: To improve education of convicts and persons released from places of imprisonment to labour market by providing EU methodology based on good practice cases. To present in an attractive way to employers and adult education centers the possibility to provide a second chance opportunity for this vulnerable social group.

Objectives (2) To improve pedagogical approaches, to develop innovative adult education practice. To provide up-to-date and innovative methods for adults on how to find suitable pathways to improve their knowledge, independent of social context, former education etc To improve cooperation between EU adult education centers and other social partners.

Results the study produced during this project has to: integrate information collected from the participating countries become an up-to-date guide for EU countries be useful to employers, adult education centers, other institutions.

Methodology content The methodology would concentrate on providing information to: employers, adult education centers, other institution. The idea is to find means to improve or gain knowledge and competence. Methodology should become a tool to assist members of vulnerable social groups to lead a normal (as we see it) life and to (re)integrate into society.

Institutional cooperation Institutions are going to share their national experience in solving the problem of integration of convicts and persons released from places of imprisonment into the labour market.

Distribution of tasks Tasks are divided into two parts: common and individual tasks. Common tasks are discussions, critics and other group work done together by the partners, online or in person during the meetings; Individual tasks are independent work of each organization.

Distribution of tasks (2) Common tasks include: drafting of ideas for the methodology; presenting opinion; self-evaluation; feedback on the draft list of ideas; participation in discussions. Individual tasks include: supplying info for the project web page; collecting information on the represented country's methodology used for convicts and persons released from the places of imprisonment; interviewing organizations and making study trips; preparing one selected topic for the methodology; press releases; collecting feedback from media attention, forwarding it to the coordinator; translation of work material from English to the national language.

The role and tasks of each organization is to: 1. Realization of the tasks and implementation of the project; 2. Disseminate project results to national municipalities, governmental and non-governmental organizations, local communities; 3. Communicate responsively and constantly with project partners; 4. Participate in all international meetings; 5. Take responsibility for organizing meetings in own country; 6. Present interim and final reports to National Agencies and partners on time (coordinating organization?).

Partners role in DEPILM: TRISYS LTD is going to support the equal opportunities aspect of the problem. Unie katolických žen, o.s. is going to support the gender aspect of the problem, analyze juristic aspects of vulnerable social groups integration into society and labour market through informal life - long learning activities. Socializacijos Ir Darbinio Mokymo Centras will be working with an issue supporting vulnerable social groups integration into labour market and social life through life - long learning and education. Nevelok Haza Egyesulet is going to support the issue of good - practise integration cases and present them. Fryshuset will support the issue of reintegrating ex-criminals and ex nazis, as well as ex-drug addicts into society: provide case studies, reveal psychological aspects etc.

Tasks October – November Project's web page starts. Initial information about partners and the project is published. The draft of ideas for methodology is prepared. By the end February 2011 Each country presents an overview of methodology used for convicts and persons released from places of imprisonment in their country.

2011 February - March The coordinator institution presents the draft summary of the information overviews presented by the partner organizations. Each partner presents their opinion, self- evaluation, and feedback on the draft list of ideas and draft list of methodology, by means of online discussion tools.

2011 April Partners interview organizations in their country, working with education of convicts and persons released from the places of imprisonment, make study trips, search and present innovative experiences and cases of good practice. June All gathered data is discussed by the partners, the content of methodology is elaborated. Each partner takes part in preparing a topic for methodology.

2011 September Results are presented at project’s web page, by sending press releases to the media and directly to adult learners' centers and lifelong learning organizations. October Evaluation of attention in each country: media, education centers etc November The draft version of the methodology is presented by the coordinator institution. Feedback, comments, critics, notes, corrections are made bay the partners.

2012 February The final version of methodology is presented. Final comments and corrections, editing. April The methodology is published and electronic version is prepared. Results are presented at project’s web page, to each country's media and adult learners' centers and lifelong learning organizations.

2012 July Self evaluation, critics and the evaluation of media attention. Adult education centers evaluate methodology in each country, impact assessment. Every member organization will have the project result, prepared methodology in English and will translate it to their national language. The translation will be made available to all members of the organization, and their cooperating partners in the local community.

Dissemination brochures with information in English and in each country’s native language will be produced; when the methodology is published it will be sent to adult education centers and institutions, penal institutions (places of imprisonment), professional bodies like trade unions, state administration offices, responsible of municipalities, authorities like unemployed/labour centers, employers and the media - at a national level;

Dissemination (2) Electronic methodology will be available at each organization's web page; Each organization is going to publish some information about this project on it's own web page and make the methodology available in English and national language. The participants of the project will represent the ongoing events and meetings, they will disseminate project's intermediate and final results.
