Introduction SMEs - limited technology - limited finance - limited market access - Lower capacity of HR - lower quality - no aware about IPR - (B = BUSINESS) Government - many regulations - many insentif programs - many training programs (G = GOVERNMENT) R&D Agencies/ Universities - many reseachers - many new methods - many new technologies - many new products but - can not sell - have no market access - have no investor - not aware about IPR (A = ACADEMIC)

4 Definition  BTC is organization established at regional level which create collaboration among business players, technology providers and government  BTC make identification local economic potentials, diffusion and technology transfer as well as commercialization of research  BTC can help SMEs in acquaring and mastering the technology to help them to produce better qualified product, higher productivity, more innovation and stronger competitiveness

Vision and Mission BTC VISI : to increase regional growth through the empowering competitiveness of SME, to have better access and bargaining power to enter the dynamic market, with a support of the networking power of related institution, collaboration among business and R&D institutions at regional level, also supported by other stakeholders. MISI : function of consultation and assistance for SMEs, coordination for inward partner and outward partner, to support local SMEs in developing their business, to promote funding access, global marketing and regional investment SMEs, introducing local brands or local image (of innovation-based products) and promoting regional potentials.

Local BTC  In 2003 as first project, Ristek (Indonesia) and BMBF (Germany) aggred to established BTC at 3 regions, they are Batam (Riau Islands), Jakarta and Yogyakarta.  In 2005, establishment of BTC in Surabaya (East Java), Bandung (West Java) and Makasar (South Sulawesi)  In 2006, establishment of BTC in Salatiga (Mid Java)  In 2007, establishment of BTC in Jababeka, West Java  In 2008, initiation of BTC in Kendari (Sout East Sulawesi)
