Remote participation is possible. This is in addition to , voic and face-to-face discussions.

Participants are not intimidated by the presence of others. Easy way to involve all stake holders. Easy to document outcomes of each discussions. All participants are on the same page. Avoids single-point of decision making. Prevents wrong wasteful decisions.

Wiki : Benefits and Risks Benefits All participants can effectively present their ideas without getting overwhelmed by s and physical meetings. Saves Time and Money by having a simple collaborative tool. Cuts down endless discussions and meetings. The management will get a clear view of what and how the information system will be implemented. Risks Needs a primer to get started. Participants may not actively participate in the discussions. They may not know how to effectively contribute with their ideas. The management will loose some control over the discussions. Security concerns.

Wiki: Resource and Costs Wiki is an application just like . It takes the same amount of resources like the server. IT department will have one task of hosting, backup etc. Small business installation: $2000 for server and $500/year maintenance. Use open source wiki for Business as an alternative. Wiki Spaces for Business: $100/month. The benefits far out weight the resource requirements and costs.
