Who was Dorothea Lange? Which of your pictures do you like the most and why? What did you learn from looking at Dorothea Lange's photographs that might help you take better pictures? Dorothea Lange

Anne Geddes is one of the most famous contemporary photographers today. Her work on newborn babies have sold more than 18 million books and 13 million calendars. Not only is she an excellent photographer that is admired around the world, she is a business woman that has found a theme, newborns, that is unique and creative. In addition to her work, what makes Anne stand out is her ability to capitalize on her photography so much that her books are published in 85 countries. She chose babies as her subject because of her love of them. "I had seen the way children and babies were generally being photographed. It just didn't seem realistic to me that people took their children along to photographic studios all dressed in their Sunday best, photographs that didn't really show the personality of the child." Her photographs are different, exciting and fresh. Do you like the work of Anne Geddes? Ann Geddes

Annie Leibovitz is an American master photographer. Her work as a portrait photographer has been recognized as being unique, inspiring and controversial. In her own style she has been able to capture people in ways no other photographers have tried, making her an expert for capturing images of musicians, movie stars and politicians. What has made Annie an outstanding photographer? Annie Leibowitz

Henri Cartier-Bresson was a French photographer that is considered to be one of the first photojournalists. Trained to be a painter, Henri found photography to be more exciting, "I suddenly understood that a photograph could fix eternity in an instant." Carrying his camera with him almost all the time, he started photographing everyday life in France. "Photography is not like painting," Cartier-Bresson told the Washington Post in "There is a creative fraction of a second when you are taking a picture. Your eye must see a composition or an expression that life itself offers you, and you must know with intuition when to click the camera. That is the moment the photographer is creative," he said. "Oop! The Moment! Once you miss it, it is gone forever." Critique one of his photos. Henri Cartier-Bresson
