Maple Leaves This particular photo was taken when we went to take nature pictures outside and I thought this would be a very cool shot and it ended up coming out great. This photo has selective focus in it, the background is blurred out. We used the Fujifilm cameras for each of the pictures we took. I would try and get this same shot but with better lighting and a better camera. I cropped each of my photos because I didn’t want to detract from the original photo too much. I think that my best shots should be all natural to an extent so people can see the composition of them and enjoy them for what they are. The more I look at this photo the more it gives me a depressing vibe to it because when I first saw it I thought it was a happy picture.

Scoreboard The picture of the scoreboard was taken down by South Salem High school’s baseball, and softball fields. It’s about a sport that was once prominently “America’s Pastime.” The composition in this is lighting. Again in this picture we used the Fujifilm cameras as we did for most of the pictures. I don’t know if there is something I would want to change but maybe try and get one more rule of composition in this picture. I just cropped it again because I didn’t want to take away from the picture as I said before. The mood in this makes me feel intrigued and I like the angle it was taken from because it makes the shot a lot better.

Football Player When I took this shot we were outside on the turf taking photos of sports and when I saw him running I thought it would make a really nice looking picture. In this the composition is three things: selective focus, lighting, and also rule of thirds. The Fujifilm cameras were used. If I could improve this picture I would use a better camera. I cropped this to give it rule of thirds and the mood this photo gives is sporty. It makes you think of football, I personally start thinking about the NFL which then leads to me thinking about other sports.

Grass I took this shot near to where I took my “Maple Leaves” photograph. It was a very appealing place to take this picture and I was very excited with how it turned out. It ended up being one of my best pictures. Lighting and selective focus are the main two compositions for this shot. I used the Fujifilm camera for this picture. I think if I had a better camera I could of improved my picture. I cropped this picture and I also tweaked the lighting a little bit to enhance this picture. The mood for this picture just makes me think of National Geographic almost and nature.

Skilled Softball Player This photo is about a softball player balancing the ball on top of her bat, this picture was taken outside on South Salem High school’s turf. Balance and lighting are the rules of composition that fit this picture the best. I used the Fujifilm camera for this shot. I cropped out the sides of the image to take out unimportant details. With a better camera I could of improved this picture. The mood of the image sets a sporty, softball feel, and the sun makes it a warm picture.

About Me What do the pictures say about you as an artist? When interpreting my own pictures when I look at them I feel like I take shots that not a lot of other people notice. What type of pictures do you like to take? Give two photographic examples… I like to take pictures that are unique and different from most other people’s photos.

About Me What are your two favorite pictures that you have taken this semester? Shown at right --->>> Are there pictures that you do not like to take? Why? The hardest shots for me to take are portraits. It’s not easy because trying to balance the background and the subject is difficult.
