Presentation transcript:

There are different types of reptiles; they are all different shapes and sizes.

Komodo Dragon The Komodo Dragon can grow up to 10ft and weigh up to 70 kilograms. Komodo dragons are the heaviest lizards on earth. They have long, flat heads, scaly skin a rounded snout, bowed legs and huge muscular tails. Komodo dragons are carnivores, meaning they eat only meat. They stalk prey ready to feast until bones are left lying around.

True crocodiles are large aquatic tetrapods that live throughout the tropics in Africa, Asia, the Americas and Australia. Crocodilian, in which all its members are considered true crocodiles. The term is sometimes used even more loosely to include all extant member of the order Crocodilia. Crocodiles wait for there food to come to them.

Frogs are a diverse and largely carnivorous group of short-bodied, tailless amphibians composing the order Aura. Frogs typically lay their eggs in water. The eggs hatch into aquatic larvae, called tadpoles, that have tails and internal gills. Did you know that the male golden frog makes a habitat by a river and wait for the females.

Lizards are all different shapes and sizes, the behave differently in all different ways. Lizards typically have feet and external ears, while snakes lack both of these characteristics. However, because they are defined negatively as excluding snakes, lizards have no unique distinguishing characteristic as a group.

Many species of snakes have skulls with many more joints than their lizard ancestors, enabling them to swallow prey much larger than their heads with their highly mobile jaws. To accommodate their narrow bodies. Snakes eat Rats, mice and animal eggs.

The reptile family of animals consists of cold blooded creatures that have scales all over them. examples of reptiles are snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises, crocodiles and. They live in warm environments that can go from the extreme dryness of the desert, to living in water.

They were first appeared during the Triassic period, approximately 230 million years ago. Some birds survived the extinction event that occurred 66 million years ago, and their descendants continue the dinosaur lineage to the present day. The sea was home to many different reptiles.
