2 There are three specific groups of reptiles.
Types of Reptiles There are three specific groups of reptiles. The first type of reptiles is Lizards and Snakes The second type is Turtles The last type is Crocodilians

3 Importance of reptiles
Reptiles help control the population of other animals such as rats, insects, fish and small animals They provide food for humans such as reptile eggs and turtles soup Reptiles also serve as food for other animals

4 Energy, What they eat Lizards
smaller lizards eat insects like flies and crickets The bigger lizards eat bigger prey. Some like the komodo dragon have eaten pigs, deers, and humans. Some only eat plants like the Iguara. Snakes Snakes are meat eaters many snakes feed on small mammals Turtles They feed on insects, fish, worms and plants Crocodilians Fish, turtles and waterbirds.

5 Reproduction Some species of snakes and lizards develop eggs which the female will lay. Although some species give birth to live young. Turtles’ eggs are developed in the female body. They are left in a nest on a shore and covered until they are hatched, and they get to the shore alone. Crocodilians create nests, that the female guards after she lays the eggs in them. Once the eggs hatch the male and female protect their young.

6 Habitat Reptiles live on every continent except Antarctica
Most Reptiles live in an area with a tropical climate They live in every ocean except those in the polar regions Reptiles like the crocodiles live near water and warm climates Some biomes some Reptiles live in are the ocean, swamp, desert and jungle.

7 Characteristics Reptiles have thick, dry, waterproof skin.
Their skin is covered with scales that help reduce water loss and protect them from injuries. Reptiles are ectotherms, this means they are able to modify their internal temperatures by their behavior. Reptiles are tetrapods, this means they have four limbs Reptiles are amniotes, amniotes are vertebrates with eggs that have several layers of protective membranes.
