Presentation transcript:

You can see how much sugar is in your food by reading the label.

Sugar contains a lot of vitamins and minerals which our bodies need in order to be healthy.

You cannot see how much fat is in the food you eat because it is not listed on food labels.

Sugar has many other names like dextrose, fructose, glucose, lactose, and sucrose.

We need fat for our nerves, brain and skin cells to protect vital organs in the body and to help to control our body temperature.

Healthy foods like apples, bananas, and oranges have sugar in them.

All fats found in food are bad for our bodies. It is our enemy in order to stay healthy!

The average can of cola has 40 grams of sugar which equals 10 teaspoons of sugar.

Eating foods with sugar, even if it is not candy or dessert, can lead to cavities if you do not brush your teeth after eating.

Fats in foods are classified as good or bad, and we need to try to eat more of the good type.
