SUSD School Counseling Department Implementing an aligned K-12 “ASCA National Model” program.

 The Sahuarita Unified School Counseling Program has been developed by school counselors trained in the ASCA National Model for School Counseling Programs.  The National Model was Approved as SUSD Board Policy, Fall  The School Counseling Program at Sahuarita Unified School District is designed to support student academic achievement through the implementation of the ASCA National Model.

The mission of the Sahuarita Unified School District Counseling Program is to maximize the academic and personal potential of all students, helping them to become responsible and productive members of society. SUSD School Counseling Program

1. Academic Domain: Support student academic achievement. 2. Personal/Social Domain: Support student’s self esteem, self knowledge, and self awareness. 3. Career Domain: Support student’s career planning. *Delivery of curriculum and services are through student participation in classroom guidance lessons, groups, individual counseling, etc.

Further involves the parents in their child’s educational development and long-range planning.
