Welcome Parents! Back to School Night 2012 Chemistry II Mrs. Kelsey Ext. 4007

Course Web Page  or, go to > quick links > classroom connect > click on Kelly Kelsey under MATESwww.ocvts.org  Syllabus  Lab Information  Calendar  PowerPoints for each chapter New Course Web Page for Students on Google Sites.  Not public, need for access

Parent Portal  Updating  “blank” ?  Must sign test or quiz grades scoring D or F grades If you don’t remember signing these, please ask your child who has been… Blank does not equal zero, it means I am not finished yet. I try to update as frequently as possible!

Pattern of Course Work  Before: take notes/ read  During: section reviews/ lab  End: chapter review questions (can start early- labeled by section) due on test day (Students have one full class period to work on this where they can check for correctness & ask questions. I check these for work shown and completion.) After: Test & lab report* due (not on same day) * (Lab report format to be changed this year, details will be posted on webpage.) Breakdown of time allotted for assignments on webpage

Etc.  Absences- check my planner!  Tutors/ Lunch tutoring  Vacations… I am available daily at lunch for help, or guidance can set up your child with a peer tutor by request. I write in my planner daily what we covered, any assignments, etc. It is on my desk for students to check. Block Schedule means 1 class = 2 normal classes. Labs cannot be made up, so your student may miss critical learning experiences.
