FORESTUR: “Tailored training for professionals in the rural tourist sector” ES/06/B/F/PP ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT November 06 – May 07 Budapest, June 2007

1 Expected results The expected results of the project are: 1. Report on the specific training needs of rural tourism sector in the participating geographical areas, but also comparing results between the partner countries. 2. ICT based training methodology adapted to the tourist sector. Its pedagogical approach is based in the use of asynchronous communication and social integration. 3. Training materials suitable for tourism professionals in remote areas. They will be available in CD format and will also be downloadable from the project website.

2 Expected results 4. Project website containing project description and related documents, access to the training platform through which the training will take place and links to the partners websites as well as other interesting websites, online bulletins, press, etc. 5. Online training platform. Free software will be used for its design, such as "Moodle". 6. Support guidebooks for trainers and trainees.

8 FOCUS GROUP IN VALENCIA Florida organised a short conference including a presentation of the project with FCVRE & TUEJAR Council and a round table with experts in Rural Tourism. It was held in the framework of the 3rd TCV- INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR in Valencia on 31st of March 2007.

9 FOCUS GROUP IN VALENCIA We sent invitations to more than addresses (Tourism regional authorities, small companies in the sector, local administrations, associations and federations, etc) and we also issued a press release.

10 FOCUS GROUP IN VALENCIA Thanks to this event we were able to establish direct contact with relevant people in the field of Rural Tourism in our region: - Rural Tourism Department. Regional Ministry of Tourism. - CdT - Centre for Tourist Development. Valencian Tourist Board. - Valencian Federation of municipalities. Tourism Section. - FEVADER: Valencian Federation of Rural Development - Association of Hotel and catering companies in La Serrania

11 WORKING SESSION IN TUEJAR On 20th June Florida & Tuejar team organised a working session (presentation of the project and group dynamics) in Tuejar with the ADL’s (Local Development Agents) and representatives of 12 municipalities of La Serrania. The main objective of this working session is to foster the ADL’s to disseminate FORESTUR activities in their towns and to keep users for the pilot test.
