EDFacts Submission Plan In the EDFacts Submission Plan, the SEA count is hardwired to “1.” If you are not submitting through EDFacts, note in the comment field “exemption.” If you are submitting through EDFacts: – When data are from a program year prior to , indicate “0” for the LEA count. – When data are from program year , indicate the # of LEAs

Step 1 – Definitions that apply to all indicators Standard definitions: Does the state use the standard definition? Yes or No If no, what definition does the state use? Concentrator A secondary student who has earned three (3) or more credits in a single CTE program area (e.g., health care or business services), or two (2) credits in a single CTE program area, but only in those program areas where two (2) credit sequences at the secondary level are recognized by the state and/or its local eligible recipients. Participant A secondary student who enrolled in a vocational education course. The threshold level to be a participant is defined by the state, with most states defining a CTE participant as a student who has completed at least one course (or a substantial portion of it), and may be enrolled in another course. This definition includes students who have reached the threshold level of concentrator.

Tech-Prep If no, do not include category set I “Tech-Prep” in the EDFacts file. If yes, then these data should be submitted through EDFacts as category set I “Tech-Prep.” – Don’t forget that there are additional data about Tech-Prep that must be submitted through the CAR.

Submitting to EDFacts for We are building CTE pre-fill reports which will allow the CTE coordinators to see what the CTE data submitted via EDFacts look like in the CAR reporting format --- similar to the Excel spreadsheets that can be uploaded to the CAR These reports should be available at the beginning of November Your EDFacts coordinator can provide these once your state has submitted the data to EDFacts.
