Capabilities: (a) Provide equipment maintenance support which is tailorable to units assigned in its area of support. (b) Provide Class I support. (c) Provide SSA multiple capability with Class II, III(p), IV, VII and IX. (d) Provide transportation support within the UEx AO. (e) Receive, Store, and Issue CL III (B) support. It supports units in the division rear and provides designated and reinforcing support to the FSBs. The battalion provides direct support maintenance, supply, transportation, and medical support to division rear customers and other units assigned direct support. When the battalion is augmented, it also provides field services. The MSB is responsible for the effective management of subordinate units and coordinates security for these units. The MSB contains a Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, a Supply and Service Company, a Transportation Motor Transport Company, Electronics Maintenance Company, Main Maintenance Company and a Medical Company.
