Course synopsis The course is designed to develop students’ spoken and written communication skills effectively. This is vital in helping them to enter the job market and preparing them for workplace. Students will enhance their language skills via learning activities that incorporate communication strategies, interactions and feedback. The learning activities include, but not limited to, carrying out presentations, attending mock- job interviews, writing business correspondence, conducting meetings and writing business documents.

Course outcomes CO1 write relevant information in a job application letter, different types of business letters and meeting documents using complex and grammatically correct language according to appropriate format. CO2 deliver relevant information effectively in oral communication using complex and grammatically correct language. CO3 construct ideas and opinions fluently in mock job interviews using complex and grammatically correct language expressions. CO4 role-play effective meeting skills that demonstrate teamwork using accurate and complex language expressions.
