Borders of China Chinese Culture Customs & Traditions of China New Year A dragon dance celebrates the temple in Foshan, China. Beijing Opera is the most widely known Chinese theatrical style with over 200 years of history. Although the art form started in China's Yangtze River Yan’an region, it only became fully developed in Beijing, and that is how it's name came to be. The form employs song and dance with exaggerated movements that leave a strong impression on viewers. National Day Is celebrated every year on October 1.
