Story 1: Mrs Shepherd woke up at 3 one morning because she heard something. Situation You are an investigator from the police force responsible for George Stevens’s murder. The suspects in this case are George’s secret girlfriends: Elaine, Tina, Pansy and Katherine. As there is no other people’s fingerprint or blood, except George’s, found at the scene. You have to work with your team members on the alibis provided by these four girls.

Assumption of the investigators: What were left at the crime scene belong to the murderer!!!

Role of group members Each group member is responsible for explaining one alibi provided by a girlfriend of George's. You cannot show each other your information directly. You can only explain to them orally.

Things you have to do 1.Describe the information you have to your groupmates. 2.Compare your own information with other groupmates’ information. 3.Make deductions about which girlfriend is suspicious for each event, using modal verb + have + past participle 4.Choose an appropriate modal verb to determine the degree of possibility. 5.Fill in the group worksheet.
