COMPONENTS

Identity Project Components: Name cover using magazine letters Magazine picture with written component Name acronym page Family page with written component (Family pic) Drawing with explanation Autobiographical poem (Baby + Recent pic)

Name Cover Cut out letters (1 inch) from your magazines to form your FIRST and LAST name. Place letters in an envelope! Please use a variety of color construction paper to design the cover. Decide the cover design BEFORE you begin pasting anything! Please make sure that the letter cut outs that form your name all fit on the cover BEFORE you paste it. You might need to find smaller letters in the magazines if it does not. Find POSITIVE adjectives to describe you in the magazines or form your own by cutting the letters out. I must approve adjectives BEFORE pasting begins. Use only glue (not tape) to attach the letters to cover.

Magazine Page Choose a picture from a magazine that you feel best identifies with you. It can be a picture of something you like or a picture that caught your attention. Decide on the design of the page and then paste the picture onto a color construction paper of your choice using a glue stick (not Elmer’s liquid glue). In an 8 sentence paragraph explain why you chose this picture. What aspect of the picture appeals to you and why? How does this picture identify with you? TYPE THE PARAGRAPH FOR H.W./ Upload to Grammarly. Paste the edited paragraph onto the construction paper along with your magazine picture. Decorate it all over. There should be no blank spaces. The decoration should not go beyond the page.

Name Acronym Page Write your first name vertically or horizontally on construction paper using the letter stencils. If more than one person has the same name in the class, then use the first initial of your last name too. Think of adjectives that begin with the letters in your name. They MUST BE APPROVED by me. Decide on the design of the page and make sure everything fits BEFORE pasting or tracing anything with marker. Decorate it all over. There should be no blank spaces. The decoration should not go beyond the page.

Family Picture Page Decide on the design of your page before pasting anything. Write an 8 sentence paragraph naming and describing the individuals in the picture from left to right. Explain where you all were and what you were doing when the picture was taken. Why did you choose this picture from the others? What memories come to mind when you see this picture? How do you feel about your family? How important are they in your life? TYPE THE PARAGRAPH FOR H.W./ Upload to Grammarly and paste the picture and the edited paragraph on the construction paper. Decorate it all over. There should be no blank spaces. The decoration should not go beyond the page.

Drawing Page & Essay Draw something that represents YOU. Think symbolically. For instance, if you are a calm person that enjoys the simpler things in life, maybe you can draw a picture of a beach. You can draw one image or a series of images. COLOR IT!!! Decide on the design of your page before tracing anything onto the construction paper with marker. Write a paragraph (8 sentences) naming and describing what you drew. Explain how the picture or each item drawn represents or resembles you. How does what you drew relate to you and who you are? TYPE PARAGRAPH FOR H.W./ Upload to Grammarly. Paste edited paragraph to construction paper. Decorate the page as best as you can to make your drawing stand out. You may want to add color to your drawing.

Autobiographical Poem You will need to formulate a 12+ line poem mentioning some personal aspects of your life. For instance, you can mention your siblings, adjectives to describe yourself, things you love, things you hate, things you fear, etc. You can follow the guide provided by the teacher or you can create your own. TYPE THE POEM for h.w./ Upload to Grammarly. Decide on the design of this page and then paste the toddler and recent picture of yourself. Decorate all over. There should be no blank spaces.
