2 Documentary: Due Script including your intro, three arguments, and conclusion Inclusion of background information No longer than 10 minutes

3 Documentary: Due Next Week: Photos put together in MovieMaker
Your photos/artwork/maps/posters/ laws/letters to tell your story If you are talking about a place, find a picture of that place If you are talking about a person, find a picture of that person If you are talking about their job, find pictures of their tools or them working If you are talking about technological advancements, find blueprints of the object If you have an expert… Would they be willing to be filmed for your project? Are there posters that could help tell the story of your person? (Wanted, protesting posters, declaration of war) Are there letters that your person wrote? Add those. Are there any quick clips that you want to add to your documentary so that you can find less pictures?

4 Where to look Look at library archives (call them and ask them if they have anything on your subject, the larger the library, the better off you are!) Look at institutes such as museums Look in books in the library Encyclopedias

5 Documentary Don’t forget to add your photo citations to the annotated bib. If this is not done… I will not let you go to the competition and your grades will decrease. Remember LOC is awesome!!!!!

8 Exhibits: Due next week (100 pts)
Your photographs- You need to find proof of your story now. You found some. But find some more. Remember, the pictures need to help tell your story. If you don’t have a good reason for the picture, don’t print it out. Hint: I would probably buy your trifold (or two if you want more space) Go to Walmart or Meijer… don’t waste a bunch of money on it. Hint #2: Don’t glue anything on. You might change how you want it to look. Hint #3: Give Ms. C .25 and she will put them in a manilla envelope and hold onto your pictures for you.

9 Exhibit: How to cite your photos ON your exhibit
Brief factual credit (Does not count towards your word count). Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., 1942, PBS Your title for the photo, the year it was taken, the website or book your found it in If you decide to add a caption (a brief explanation of the photograph), that counts towards your word count. The actual full annotated credit of the photograph goes onto your annotated bibliography

Conclusion Go back through make your story solid Does it make sense? Does it tell how your person took a stand? Do your arguments support your thesis? Does your conclusion summarize your whole paper? Did you cite information where you found it? Did you cite information correctly? Check for spelling errors Do you have proof your person took a stand?

14 DON’T FORGET TO INCLUDE:
Quotes that help tell your story Maybe from your person Maybe from leaders such as presidents, military officials, people who were there at the time, news reports, newspapers, interviews, professors. Don’t forget to add to your annotated bibliography! This will help you in the long run!

Go through the script and find what’s missing Need more historical information find it and add it Act like you don’t know anything about this topic… what makes sense and what doesn’t? Perform it in front of family and ask them what they are confused on. Do you include the theme? Does the script not flow well? Practice it and find out what works and what does not work Are you using vocabulary that was used during that time period? Look it up! Have script half memorized (first 5 minutes)
