 BIOWASTE SOLUTIONS “Waste is the measure of our inefficiency”

“The evidence of this inefficiency is clear when looking at the materials that are being dumped every day that equate to millions of dollars of lost revenue while at the same time negatively impacting the environment and health of the very communities in which they serve”

WHAT IS THE QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT’S CURRENT BEST PRACTICE WITH OUR BIO WASTE? 3

HOW DOES A LANDFILL WORK?

F ACTS …  Countries such as Scotland no longer have landfills  Ten U.S. states have committed to zero bio waste by 2030  New York City has passed laws demanding restaurants, stadiums, hotels food wholesalers to recycle all food waste  California is currently passing laws to reach zero bio waste by

S O WHAT ARE WE DOING ?  The Queensland government released a paper Queensland Waste Avoidance and Resource Productivity Strategy (2014–2024)  In this paper, the Queensland government has set an ambitious target of reducing the amount of waste per capita by 5% over the next 10 years  To reduce the amount of waste being delivered to landfills by 5% every three years over the next 10 years

A SNAPSHOT OF Q UEENSLAND WASTE

Q UEENSLAND STRATEGY TARGETS

Are we really doing enough… Or will we soon be drowning in our own waste?

W HAT DO WE DO NEXT ?

W HAT IF …  We had a bio waste solution to dispose of and recycle food waste dumped in landfills by 50% within five years…  We had a bio waste solution to dispose of and recycle hospital waste by 50% in five years…

W HAT IF …  We had a biowaste solution to reduce farm waste burning by 50% in five years…  We had a biowaste solution to reduce garden waste by 50% in five years…

W HAT IF …  With a biowaste solution we could create jobs right across Queensland…  With a biowaste solution we could convert waste into energy…

W HAT IF …  With a biowaste solution we could export our recycled waste…  With a biowaste solution we could produce safe nutrient rich compost to reuse on our farms…

T HERE IS A BIOWASTE SOLUTION  Nature controls it’s waste by aerobic composting. The breakdown and recycling and reusing of biowaste over a long period of time.  At Biowaste Solutions we have imitated this process and with the help of modern technology sped this process up to be completed between 48 and 72 hours depending on the waste.  The end product can either be burned as a carbon neutral fuel in biomass boilers and turned in electricity or used as a safe nutrient rich compost.

T HERE IS A BIOWASTE SOLUTION  Bio Energy Digesters (BED) can be produced to any size capable of handling 50kg/day up to 00’s of tons of waste per day using a continuous feed system.  BED’s can completely eliminate up to 95% of waste depending on the end use. Water is also extracted, ozonated for purification and reused.  BED’s can also be fitted with ozone injection systems to treat and make safe and immediately usable human waste eliminating pathogens and micro organisms left behind by current treatment methods.

Max Input Rate: 200kg/24Hr period Min Output Rate: 40kg/24Hr (DM90%) (for waste reduction only) Max Fuel Output: 60kg day (DM88%)≈ 8.5kW/h (at 85% boiler efficiency) W HAT ARE WE LOOKING AT

Max Input Rate: 5000kg/24Hr period Min Output Rate: 900kg/24Hr (DM90%) (for waste reduction only) Max Fuel Output: 1200kg day (DM88%)≈ 1600kW/h (at 85% boiler efficiency)

 Multiple BED machines can be built into a building to handle larger quantities of waste.  The machines are fed from a central conveyor system and call for organic waste as needed.

T HE B IOWASTE S OLUTION : B UNDABERG E XAMPLE  To set up a central multiple BED biowaste collection station  Household bio waste will be collected as normal and delivered to the central collection point  Packing and storage shed waste will be collected as normal and delivered to the central collection point  Farm waste such as cane waste, rather than being burnt will be baled and delivered to the central collection point  Food industry biowaste will be collected as normal and delivered to the central collection point  All waste will then be mixed, fed through our multi digester system, injected with ozone and either burned, carbon neutral, within a biomass boiler for energy or tested for N,P,K nutrients and sold as nutrient rich compost back to farmers at a discounted rate for those who supplied waste or exported to middle eastern countries for use as a soil replacement
