Danny NAPPI  Nappi Clothing was founded in 2005  Also the owner of Facade Boutique and Offside Apparel  It is located on 623 S. State St. in Salt Lake City  Started off creating clothes because, none of his clothes fit him the way he wanted  Decided to start designing his own clothes  Has degree in Political Science, has taken no art classes  Learned how to Screen Print from You Tube

Production  Nappi design’s all his own apparel, along with the sewing, marketing, screen printing, and is the spokesperson for all his events.  Shirts, jeans, scarf's, jackets, bags, dresses, etc.  He didn’t want to label his last name, but decided to in the end

Career Day to Day  It changes everyday, one day you could be making and screen printing clothes. The next day marketing, and running a fashion show  Needs to be flexible with schedule, no 9-5 job Training  Get as much training as possible, take sewing, marketing, accounting, etc classes to help prepare for any business

Qualities and Opportunities Qualities  Lots of persistence, needs to be flexible in thinking, be ambitious, needs to have good communication skills, and teamwork skills  Very creative person, know how to sew, and how to market the product Opportunities  Endless opportunities in this field if there is a drive and passion for this industry, sky’s the limit

Most Satisfying & Challenging part of this job Satisfying  Creating and Designing your own apparel  Being able to make all my own design’s Dissatisfying  Doing the paperwork, books, taxes, bills  Whatever happens is up to me

Entry Level Positions & Salaries  An internship is a great entry level position that will help you learn as much as possible. Also most jobs in retail such as boutiques and sale will familiarize you with this industry.  Salaries in this field can range from zero to millions. The possibilities are limitless.

Changes in the Industry  The fashion industry is constantly changing the average is about every 3 months.  There will always be a demand for individuals in this field, clothing is a basic necessity.

Training & Professional References  Many fashion companies offer internships, it is helpful to have some experience in this business.  Since fashion changes every 3 months it is important to stay up to date with the current trend magazines such as Vogue, Women’s Wear Daily, and GQ are excellent sources for this information.

Problems  Change  Since Change is something that just happens so rapidly and fast now, it’s hard to design and adjust to what’s new.  Being the salesmen  To get people to buy your product instead of everyone else’s.  Along with that comes the competition.  Being the business man.  Being the boss or the man who started this whole business, it sucks paying the bills and all that fun stuff.

Basic Skills  Creativity- which is the most important part of this job.  Typography  Screen printing  Sewing  Drawing  Danny says when it comes to drawing, it’s a lot easier on paper than on a computer.  Etc.

Communication/Teamwork TThis is very important when it comes to be a Graphic Designer, especially if your designing for a company. YYour communicating with all sorts of people like: Photographers, other Designers, Sewers, other Businessmen, etc. WWhen it comes to getting a project out on time, you got to Plan with your entourage how and when your going to get it done on time. BBasically, in any occupation communication is always important or nothing seems to get done right without good communication skills.
