Iowa’s main agriculture product is corn. Another main product is Soy Beans.

The headquarters of Blue Bunny Ice Cream is in Le Mars. Blue Bunny Ice Cream has over 70 flavors of Ice Cream.

Council Bluffs is the place were Lewis and Clark had a council in the buffs with the Otoe Indians. Council Bluffs was started as a small fort the U.S. army built. They called it the Council Bluffs Blockhouse.

Des Moines is the capital of Iowa. It is also the biggest city in Iowa.

The Effigy Mounds was made by northeast Iowa mound builders. They buried their dead tribe members in it.

Fort Madison was built in 1808 to impress Indians and help with fur trade. The whole fort is surrounded by a 10 feet high wood fence.

Addie Gardener was the only survivor from the spirit lake massacre. She was held captive for six years by the wahpetuke Indians.

Herbert Hoover is the only president that came from Iowa. He was born in West Branch,Iowa.

There were about five different Indian tribes in Iowa. They were divided in to different clans called the Eagle,Wolf,Bear,Pigeon,Elk,Buffalo,and snake.

Thomas Jefferson is the president who bought the Louisiana purchase. He was the 3 rd president of the united states.

The city Keokuk is named after the Sauk chief Keokuk buried in Read Park. Keokuk ordered his people to obey the US army.

Nordic Fest is in Decorah, Iowa. Over 9,000 people come to Nordic Fest each year.

Vesterheim is a Norwegian- American museum. It is in Decorah, Iowa.

Grant Wood was born February 13,1891. He was born in Anamosa,Iowa. He painted the American Gothic.

Yellow River state forest is one of our only state parks. The park was established in 1933.
