Tom Clancy;s Splinter Cell Conviction written by: David Michaels Presentation By: David Robinson

Why I chose this book  I was in the book store and I noticed the title of the book and knew it was based off the video game.  When I read the back of the book I was very intrigued and wanted to know more about the book.  I noticed the Tom Clancy on the front and heard he was a good author, so I decided to pick it out.

SummarySummary BasicBasic

 “Third Echelon is training new recruits who will be given a necessary but terrible mission. They must capture and kill one of their own, a man who’s gone rogue and sold out his government… Sam Fisher, Splinter Cell” (The back of the book).

*Third Echelon is a top secret government agency for the united states.

Sam Fisher Background info. Sam Fisher is a hardcore former Third Echelon agent for the United States government who was accused of betraying and selling out his country. Sam fisher is extremely skilled at what he does, and is very lethal.

Other Important Characters  Grimsdottir- Sam Fisher’s friend inside Third Echelon  Hansen- Leader of the team of “Splinter Cells” chasing Sam Fisher  Kovac- Corrupt Leader of the Third Echelon agency

Equipment SC Pistol SC-20k In the novel Sam Fisher uses all kinds of special Third Echelon Gadgets and Weapons to move on in the book. Such as: OPSAT attachable camera

Culture, Identity, and Values CultureIdentityValues Part of Sam Fisher’s Culture is technology. Technology is part of his culture because without all of his new and high-tech technology he would not be able to be who he is and do what he does. The worlds technology is advancing rapidly and is a big part of everyone's culture today and especially part of Sam Fishers Culture. A big part of Sam Fisher’s identity is his good moral and belief in justice and good. One example of this is when he saves the Splinter Cell agent even though he is trying to kill him because he knows that he is an agent just following orders and deserves to live. Sam Fisher does not that have that many values because he has no family and almost no good friends. However one of Sam Fisher’s Values is his physical fitness. Physical Fitness is one of his values because he chooses to stay in shape so he doesn’t get hurt and it helps him survive many close encounters.

My Favorite Part of the Book  My Favorite Part of the book is near the end of the book when Sam tells the rest of his team to go on without him and leave him behind. “Hansen started back down toward him. ‘Ben.’ The tone of Fisher’s voice stopped Hansen in his tracks. ‘I can help you, Sam.’ ‘Get everybody topside. I’m right behind you’ ‘Your foot’s broken.’ ‘I’m not going to argue with you. Go now, or the next time I see you I’m going to shoot you”(378).  This is my favorite part of the book because it shows how Sam Fisher puts other people before himself and that he is brave.

The Message  The message of this book is to never give up. The message is to never give up because all the way through the novel, all odds are against Sam Fisher, yet he never gives up which allows him to survive in the worst of situations.

Recommendation  I would definitely recommend this book because: It is very suspenseful and keeps you wanting to read more to know if Sam Fisher will survive or what surprise might happen next It is very action-packed and is great for any one who likes a lot of action  Although I would recommend this book it is a higher level book that may be hard to understand at sometimes and is also very long.
