Globalstar System Presentation

The Globalstar System Globalstar is a satellite voice and data communications network based on a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation of 40 operating satellites.

How a call is managed 1.User or modem dials the desired number 2.The call is routed to the nearest satellite overhead 3.The satellite then routes the call to the nearest ground station / gateway 4.The call is sent through the local terrestrial network to its final destination

Globalstar Communication reliability The Globalstar system is reliable; each terminal connects with up to three different satellite at the same time, automatically and continuously choosing the one with the better signal; this is valid for voice and data communications.

Global Coverage

The Globalstar Modem, is like any commercial standard modem, and can be integrated with any system that supports std Hayes AT commands. It permits Asynchronous and packet data communication at 9,6 Kbps uncompressed; specific software applications that are available may substantially increase data throughput Globalstar Data Services
