Socialist Republic Dictatorship Mainly isolated from outside countries

Overall, political management is personalized and is based on the loyalty to Kim Il Sung and the Korean Workers’ Party (KWP). Work is the noble duty and honor of a citizen. The Democratic people’s republic of Korea is an independent socialist state representing the interests of all the Korean people.

North Korea is a classic example of the “rule of man.” Kim Jong-Un is a man with no restrictions anything he says goes.

Citizens have freedom of residence and travel. Citizens are guaranteed freedom of speech and freedom of religious beliefs. Citizens have the right to education. Citizens are entitled to free medical care and seniors and minors who have no means of support are entitled to material assistance.

Court cases are heard in public and the accused is guaranteed the right of defense. Hearings may be closed to the public as stipulated by law. Justice is administered by a Court consisting of one Judge and two People’s Assessors.

No citizens can be placed under control or arrest nor can a citizen’s home be searched without a legal warrant. It is an essentially a closed dictatorial state. North Korea may be attempting to open its economy slightly by encouraging limited foreign direct investment.

Executive branch– the president’s prior asset is required for all laws, decrees, decisions, and directives. The president also grants pardons, ratifies or abrogates treaties, and receives foreign envoys or request their recall. Judicial branch- process both, adjudicative and prosecuting bodies function as powerful weapons for the proletarian dictatorship.

Executive Branch- rules everything and enforces laws Term is from election until death or resignation for dictator. The KWP had 160 Central Committee members and 143 alternate (candidate) members.

The local People’s assembly has the duties to elect or recall the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, and members of the committee. They also elect or recall the Judges and the People’s Assessors of the Court at the corresponding level. A new local People’s Assembly is elected according to the decision of the local People’s committee at the corresponding level.

North Korean divides its citizens into three groups determined by their loyalty to their dear leader. Core: most of the wealth Wavering: middle class Hostile: minority faith and descendants of enemies of the state. Hostiles are denied employment and subject to starvation.
