Why? Professional Athlete?? When I ask, “What do you want to do for a career?” many kids will tell me that they would like to be a professional athlete video game tester singer Why? Unfortunately, most people who set these goals will not be able to have a career in these fields, because they are highly competitive. There are many more people who want these jobs, than there are jobs available, so people with elite skills are the only ones who have the opportunity.

Enjoy Your career They have the right idea! Finding a career where you can do things that you enjoy is very smart. Work will be a big part of your life and take up a lot of your time. Enjoy every day by finding a career you love!

How do you find the right career for you? WS Start by thinking about the things you like to do Group share Independent writing Things I like to do Put a star by your 5 favorites One thing I want to learn Use Handout “Things I Like To Do” from the NCIS website. Review the worksheet so that students know what they will have to do when filling it out. Have each group member share ideas for 30 seconds. Use timer call the number of the student whose turn it is. Then, give 5 minutes of independent time for students to write out their worksheet. At the bottom write one thing you want to learn.
