2. Goals Today: 1. All seniors have added their email and parent/guardians’ email to Naviance. 2. All seniors complete the OPS Beginning of the year Survey 3. All seniors understand how to sign up for college visits 4. All seniors add 3 or more colleges to their “colleges I am thinking about” page

3. Using Naviance  To get to Naviance… www.ops.org/high/burke Go to Naviance button User Name = student number Password = birthday 05081998 (Mo/Day/Year)

4. Step 1: Adding Emails  IMPORTANT: Add your email and your parent/guardians’ emails to your Naviance Account  Click Manage my account (upper right corner)  Click Manage my profile  Add your email (under personal profile heading)  Add your parent/guardians’ email (click add new parent) under Parents heading

5. Step 2: OPS Beginning of the Year Senior Survey  Click on About Me tab  Click on ops beginning-of-year senior survey (left side of screen)  Click update frequently to save your answers. Please answer *required questions first.  Feel free to be brief on short answer questions.

6. Step 3: The College Tab  “my colleges”—click on upcoming college visits  YOU MUST PRINT THE CONFIRMATION PAGE WITH GREEN CONFIRMATION MESSAGE—THIS WILL SERVE AS YOUR PASS OUT OF CLASS FOR THE VISIT  “my colleges”—click on colleges I’m thinking about  Explore different schools and add AT LEAST 3 to this list  “college research”—click on college search to help you narrow your focus to schools of interest (if you can’t initially think of 3 schools you like)  “scholarship list”—click on scholarship list at bottom of College tab. Look around for scholarships that fit your profile. Sort by due date to see which ones deadlines are coming up soonest. This list is updated often.

See back of your handout.  Education Quest handout—lots of good information about how to pay for college and the financial aid process. Questions?
