Value of Education Connect Ideas from the past lessons (careers) Value of Education: Have students write $52,000 on billboard. Below that $30,000. Have them draw a line and subtract. Average Salaries for college degree$52,000. Average Salary $30,000 for someone with high school diploma. $18,000 for a someone who doesn’t finish high school. Explain Average Salaries What is the difference in salary What is the difference in 2 years? 10 years? Imagine you are 35 years old now, what could you do with the extra money. How about for 20 years

Retirement At 65, on average, a high school graduate will have earned $280,000 more than a one who does not complete. At 65, on average, a Masters degree will have earned $1,276,000 more than a one who only finishes high school. At 65, on average, a doctoral degree will have earned $2,360,000 more than a one who only finishes high school. At 65, on average, a professional degree will have earned $3,168,000 more than a one who only finishes high school.

Interpret Data:Revving Up Results Distribute My Success Road Map and Revving Up Student Assessment. Revving Up was a survey assessment. There are no right or wrong answers. We use the bar charts to explore your own perceptions and feelings about your own resilience. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses and it is critical that you use these two discover new goals and feelings about your success in the future.

Today we will focus on this Your scores are individual and are compared to scores from a focus group that consisted of 5,000 students in 3 years. High Average “5” means you believe school is important. Low average “0” is that you don’t believe school is important at all. Its okay if you don’t agree with your scores. As you look at your scores you can decide what it means for you and whether you agree of disagree. Fill out Pages 8-9. Invites Students
