Hypothesis : Your own opinion as to what the outcome of the experiment will be as well as why you think that. If I add soap to tap water then the surface tension of the tap water will decrease. This will happen because the soap will interfere with waters ability to join together and that will decrease the surface tension. Procedure : This should be written in such a matter that someone else who is not familiar with the activity could follow the directions and get the same results.

Procedure 1. Place penny on paper towel 2. Fill the pipette with tap water from the Dixie cup 3. Hold the pipette straight up and down 4. Slowly squeeze the pipette and allow one drop of water to fall on the penny 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the water on the penny falls onto the paper towel 6. Be sure to count your drops and record your total drops for each trail in data table 7. Dry off the penny and repeat steps 2 thru. 6 until you have completed 5 trials. 8. Average your results. 9. Repeat steps 1 thru 8 using tap water mixed with dawn dishing washing soap.
