Class Dojo!

Classroom Expectations This year we will be focusing on building important life skills such as working hard and participating. I’ll be using ClassDojo to give students feedback on these skills :)

Why use ClassDojo? ClassDojo is the easiest way to see your child’s progress on these skills. I’ll be sending classroom updates and photos with you through ClassDojo, too!

Get out those phones :) Download the app Sign up as a parent Enter your code!

Let’s try it out I’ll send you a message now! Go ahead… send one back :)

How else can we work together? Check ClassDojo regularly. Keep me updated on how your child is doing at home. Encourage the life skills we are working on in class outside of school. Celebrate wonderful classroom moments at home :) Let me know how I can be most helpful!

I’m always here to help if you need anything, as well as the ClassDojo team who can be reached at parents@classdojo.com :)

Class Goals Learn new skills Discover new interests Make new friends Have fun and support each other

Classroom Community Our classroom rules help us get along with each other: Include and encourage others Tell the truth. Work quietly when we need to. Follow directions the first time. Share with each other. Raise our hand to speak. Show respect when we work together. Use kind words. Don’t hurt others on the inside or the outside. Always try to do our best.

Class Subjects Reading/Writing Math Science Computers Physical Education Music Art Library Intervention

Language Arts/Reading The program we use is called the Imagine It! program. There will weekly spelling tests as well as reading tests

Math We use the Saxon math program. It is a spiral curriculum and we have tests every 5th lesson.

Homework I do not assign nightly homework, but if your child does not finish their work in class it will come home to be completed and returned. Missing work is due the next day. There will be unit projects that range in 3-5 weeks long. My goal is for students to become life long learners through meaningful projects. Additional reading and spelling practice are optional.

Incomplete work

Absences Missing work will be completed in class if only missing 1 or 2 days. If your child is going to be gone more than 3 days please notify the office. If you are going on vacation or going to be gone for an extended time I will have work ready ahead of time. If students are absent on a test day I do not do make up tests, the test will be excused.

Tardiness School starts at 8:15 A.M. Running late? Check in at the school office before coming to class.
