Sales Education and Performance Consulting Presents Private Network Transport (PNT) and Class of Service (CoS)

ACC Business PNT & CoS: The Basics  Available Currently the continental 48 United States and Hawaii.  “Layer 3” MPLS-based service options added to base MIS service ports  Customer access is provided by dedicated Private Line connection to the network  Standard MIS terms and conditions apply

What is ACC Business PNT?  P rivate N etwork T ransport  MPLS-enabled, Network-based, IP-VPN service Based on a foundation of standard MIS access ports Provides “Fully-Meshed” connectivity between multiple customer defined locations A closed private network exclusively using the AT&T IP network for transport connectivity  PNT does not provide for Internet Access  Parallel MIS port required at one or more locations AT&T Proprietary

What type of customer needs PNT?  Business customers with multiple locations requiring high-quality, secure data service interconnection Communications which are proprietary and key to daily business operations Require consistent, dependable connectivity and responsiveness New service implementations or migration path for existing requirements currently being supported through legacy technologies and/or other carrier solutions AT&T Proprietary

PNT Architecture (3-Port Example) AT&T Proprietary AT&T MPLS (IP) Network Public Internet Local Loop CSU/DSU ROUTER LAN Customer Premises Access Port Diagnostic Modem POTS Line Customer Site #1 (Detailed Illustration) Customer Site #2 (See Site #1 Detail) Customer Site #3 (See Site #1 Detail)

Managed Router Service (AT&T Provided CPE)  “Included-Managed” CPE Option  CPE is leased from AT&T as a component of the service agreement  Includes: ACC/AT&T provided Cisco Router Local Loop Dedicated Bandwidth Access Port  Service demarcation is at the LAN port of the router LOCAL LOOP ROUTER CPE LAN X AT&T Proprietary

Managed Router Features & Advantages  Advantages of Included-Managed (AT&T- CPE) service include: 24/7 CPE Monitoring, Management and Maintenance Customizable Packet Filtering Next business day hardware replacement as necessary No upfront hardware investment or obsolescence risk AT&T Proprietary

Customer-Provided CPE Option  For sites with appropriate router equipment and IT expertise, the Customer-Provided CPE option includes: Local Loop Dedicated Bandwidth Access Port  Service demarcation is at the customer premise Local Loop connection point LOCAL LOOP X ROUTER CPE LAN AT&T Proprietary

Traffic Class Distinctions  Four traffic service classes are available  CoS 1 - Real-Time; targeted to applications such as Voice over IP and video conferencing.  CoS 2 - Critical Data; targeted to mission critical data applications such as credit transactions and Enterprise Resource Planning (e.g. - PeopleSoft and SAP)  CoS 3 - Standard Business Data; targeted to applications such as Human Resource web sites, company , etc.  CoS 4 - General Data Applications; targeted to general Internet browsing, FTP, etc

Customer Application Profiles  A “CoS Profile” is a template that is used within the network to allocate bandwidth across the Committed Data Rate (CDR) ordered by the customer  CDR is the bandwidth equivalent of the MIS port at each customer network location  Each customer port will be provisioned using one of 25 CoS profiles, each of which provide pre-determined bandwidth percentage allocations for each service class  Assigned profile can be adjusted as evolving customer application requirements may dictate

CoS Profile Examples Profile Examples PR 1PR 2PR 3PR 4PR 5PR 6PR 7PR 8 COS1 (Real-time) 50%40% 20% 10%0% COS2 (Critical Data) 0%48%36%24%64%48%42%72% COS3 (Business Data) 0%6%18% 8%24% 20% COS4 (Standard Data) 50%6% 18%8% 24%8%  Examples of possible CoS Profiling  Each profile includes 100% of the associated customer port CDR (Committed Data Rate)

PNT & CoS Adoption Drivers  Convergence of multiple services onto a single IP network infrastructure  Triple Play (Voice, Video, Data)  Simplification of networking management and maintenance  Unified network architecture, service agreement and support processes  Significant cost reductions  Consolidation of technical support  Layer 3 IP networking  Telecom Law #1 – “Faster, Better, Cheaper”

Customer Care  ACC Business provides 1 st level Customer Care and Support Billing Inquiries Initial Troubleshooting  AT&T MIS Operations is 2 nd level escalation 24/7 Monitoring, Management, Configuration and Maintenance “Warm Transfer” from ACC Business to AT&T care, where required  Next business day CPE replacement where required AT&T Proprietary

Summary: Why ACC Business PNT/CoS? Reliability – capacity and redundancy built into the AT&T IP backbone ensures consistent ~99.99% availability. Performance – average round-trip cross-country delay is <60ms with <0.7% packet loss. ( Support – from before the sale, through provisioning, implementation, and ongoing throughout the life of the service, ACC Business and AT&T professionals are ready and available to assist. Value – Mission Critical = Price vs. Cost analysis. AT&T Proprietary

The “Net” Effect Private Network Transport IP-VPN and MPLS Class of Service are based on the world-class AT&T IP network and ACC Business MIS service. You can be certain that these services will fulfill the internet access needs of your business customer today, and will be here for you and your customer tomorrow. AT&T Proprietary
