Global Poverty: some facts from the United Nations

2.5 billion people don’t have a proper toilet or sewer system

148 million children are underweight for their age

101 million children are not attending school, with more girls missing out than boys

22 million infants don’t get basic immunisations

7.6 million children died before their 5 th birthday, in 2010

4 million newborn babies die in the first month after birth – this is Faith though, and she’s nearly 8 now!
