An Information Literacy Framework for Wales 5. Accredited units of learning in information literacy 6. Advocacy for IL in schools 7. Support IL amongst public library staff and users 8. Analysis of information literacy re employability agenda

1. Two pilots embedding IL framework in schools 2. Identify IL Champions in each local authority library service 3. Support IL training of public library staff in 5 authorities 4. Support the delivery of Agored IL units to public library users in two authorities

 Visited school and met with head-teachers, teachers and school librarians  Attended school library service meetings  Attended head teacher meetings  Resulted in gaining two case studies/pilots and raising awareness about the WILP project in schools

1. To be the main contact point for all IL issues 2. To attend any IL meetings as appropriate 3. To assist in the delivery of IL training and encourage appropriate staff to partake in training

4. To communicate and advocate the latest IL initiatives/campaigns to library staff and users 5. To monitor and feedback on all IL activity where necessary 6. To ensure local IL strategies and plans are consistent with the national strategies

7. To advise the WILP Development Officers about relevant areas of interest/concern 8. To assist in developing yearly IL plans 9. To advocate the WILF

The main roles of a contact are: 1. To receive updates about Information Literacy 2. To circulate this information to relevant/interested staff 3. To feedback on IL in their authorities

 Gwynedd - staff are taking Level 2/3 training through the medium of Welsh Language  Monmouthshire - professional staff are doing Level 3 Agored and mentoring staff through Level 2  Merthyr Tydfil – 2 IL champions are doing Level 3 Agored and mentoring other staff thorough Level 2  Cardiff – an in house programme of staff training based on Agored  Denbighshire – 2 staff awareness training days in Welsh/English  Wrecsam – presentation at staff conference
