جَزَاكُمُ اللهُ خَيْرًا May Allah reward those Who made arrangements to get it delivered or informed you about it.

مُبَارَ ك Congratulations To those who will attend this.

In this lesson… Introduction of the course Grammar Learning tip

Scholars My Position General Public Clarification of my position

Style This course is based on modern techniques taken from a review of books on:  Arabic Grammar published in India, Pak, UK, USA  Teaching Models (interactive, lecturing, …)  Second Language Learning Tools (Latest style of teaching English to foreigners); Word power; etc.

Style  Brain (Tony Buzan etc.)  Lateral Thinking (Edward DeBono)  Positive Thinking  Effective Living (Stephen Covey, etc.)  Time and Resource Management  NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)

Objectives of the Short Course 1. Convince that Qur’an is easy to learn 2. Encourage to recite Qur’an again and again with understanding 3. Help in interacting with the Qur’an (to bring it into our lives) 4. To pray Salah effectively 5. To generate the team spirit

What will we study? Surah Al-Fatihah, and last 6 Surahs Parts of Salah Supplications, etc. PLUS grammar rules in every session

How will we study? 15 minutes sessions (25 of them) Each Session will have: Qur’an / Hadith Qur’an / Hadith Grammar Grammar Educational and motivational tips Educational and motivational tips

Our Strategy Through these common recitations, we will learn almost 100 words that occur in the Qur’an almost 40,000 times (50% of the words of the Qur’an)

Understanding Qur’an vs. Learning Arabic Language 4 Major Differences in our approach

No. 1: Smooth Start Start from Salah (Why use any other text, for Qur’an)… If I want to teach you French and if I know that you speak something in French for 1 hour, I will say: Learn that first! A common sense approach Valid for every Muslim man, woman, old, and young, and even for a child …

No. 2: Focus on Listening and Reading Language Learning Understanding Qur’an ReceptionListening  Reading  ProductionSpeaking  - X - Writing  - X -

More focus on Vocabulary (just the way a child learns…) Less focus on grammar; otherwise if we teach the way shown below, people will run away! يُؤمِنُون يُؤمِنُون No. 3: More Focus on Vocabulary غائب، جمع، مذكر، مهموز، باب إفعال فعل مضارع مرفوع بثبوت النون لأنه من الأفعال الخمسة، والواؤ ضمير متصل في محل رفع فاعل

No. 4: More Focus on Sarf In Grammar, we give More emphasis on Sarf (word construction) Less emphasis on Nahw (sentence …)

No. 4: More Focus on Sarf Because we are: Familiar with the topics of Qur’an; Familiar with the topics of Qur’an; Learning from existing English translations; Learning from existing English translations; Learning to repeat the translation, rather than ‘translation’ itself. Learning to repeat the translation, rather than ‘translation’ itself.

Rules of the Short Course

Rules … We will learn with love, smiles, and relaxation. This is a thoroughly interactive short course therefore listen attentively, and participate continuously. Listen interactively, with your HEART and have faith that Allah will teach you. Don’t doubt about yourself. ( الرحمن علم القرآن )

Rules … Remember the golden rule:  I listen, I forget.  I see, I remember.  I practice, I learn.  I teach, I master (more later)

Repetition of words in the Qur’an كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ 261 * Repetition in Qur’an Noun (singular + plural forms); Verb (all forms)

Educational Tips You can Learn! You have to use brain to learn the Qur’an! And you have got an extremely powerful one!!!!

Tip No. 1 10,000,000,000 cells, neurons For each of these cells, we have up to20,000 dendrites 1,00,000,000,000,000 Connections 500 times/sec We have toooooo much CAPACITY.

Tip No. 2 We use hardly 5% of our brain! It is empty……!

Tip No. 3 Only up to 3% of brain cells die when you reach 60 years of age! If you forget things at this age, it is due to lack of using the rules of memory.

Tip No. 4 For brain and muscles – Exercise is a must. More important for aged people Use it or lose it!!! Why not use it for Qur’an Learning Qur’an has special blessings too.

MashaAllah you have started! Don’t give up!! 1. Don’t fail yourself! Don’t say you don’t have time! Snatch those 15 minutes from your day anyway! 2.
