Needs Assessment Analysis Star Chart Analysis Results Campuses are at a Developing Technology Level In the areas of: Teaching and Learning Educator Preparation Administration and Support Campuses are at an Advanced Technology Level In the areas of: Leadership and Administration and Support Services Campuses are at Partial Advanced Level In the area of: Infrastructure

Filtering District uses a Pass-Through Filtering Service All requests for access to internet sites are passed through a filter. All requests and responses are recorded and reported. Monitors more than 15 million sites. New sites are added to the database daily. District has the ability to open up sites that have content that might be useful for education purposes. Teachers may request that sites be unblocked. A local committee governs these requests.

Existing Conditions

Technology In Place Connection to Internet via DS3 District Web Servers in place Acceptable Use Policy Satellite Receiver Phone System Over voice/data network Local Cable Access to all campuses Web-based office support for all staff Browser based access for parent, student, and staff to access the library. Each campus has its own web site Each campus maintains a web presence Each classroom has instructional software Each classroom has access to content via streaming video.

Telecommunications Services According to the report, all students and staff members in the school district have access to the Internet through a direct connection. High Speed LANs are in place in every Campus. Wireless Capabilities are in place in 6 campuses. Wireless Capabilities are in place in Administration Building. Voice-over IP connections are in place between campuses.

Accessibility There report indicates an awareness of the urgent need for broader technology access. Accessibility Students: Elementary Students attend a computer lab at least once a week. Every classroom has 4 – 5 computers. Intermediate Has One lab where technology is integrated into core areas. Middle 2 Fixed Labs and 2 Mobile wireless labs for teachers to use in their classrooms. High School 3 Multipurpose labs, 4 labs for Technology Application Courses, and mini labs in the science and foreign language departments.

Inventory As of May 2007 there is a: 2.5 : 1 Student to Computer Ratio

Goals

Goal One Ensure quality teaching and learning experiences for students, staff, and the community through the use of innovative technology resources.

Goal Two Ensure sustained educator preparation and development in the use of technology that is standards-based, meaningful and engaging.

Goal Three Build a strong foundation of leadership, administration and services that support exceptional teaching and learning through the integration of technology.

Goal Four Ensure a progressive, stable and robust infrastructure for technology that supports the education vision of the district.
