Youth Day Area Youngsters Participate in Annual Football Clinic This spring, the Bulldog players and coaches conducted a free clinic for area elementary and junior high school youth. The participants got to wear the actual jerseys and helmets of the Drake players while they learned to catch, throw, kick, and run through drills with the Bulldogs serving as instructors and "defenders."

The Bulldogs spend every Friday in the fall reading in Des Moines Public Schools. Drake Football players prepare “Meals from the Heartland”. Over 5 million meals were shipped from Iowa to Africa this fall. Junior J back Steve Platek joins the kids at the Willke House for a game of dodgeball. 19 Bulldogs have volunteered to play and coach Des Moines youth.
