What is the IT Master Plan A strategic framework for the IT Community Sets IT priorities that align with University mission and vision A start point for projecting resource needs Sets expectations for anticipated timeline and impact Not a substitute for detailed project planning Establishes a sustainable planning process

Drivers for an IT Master Plan Increasing demands from: Growing student population Expanding portfolio of academic programs and research opportunities Uncertainty about effectiveness of current IT service model IT staff turnover and competition from external organizations State funding constraints “One University” (coordination and collaboration)

2. Key HIGHLIGHTS

What this Plan will Accomplish “One IT community” that: functions with greater collaboration and efficiency strengthens delivery of IT services supports an increasing research portfolio Increased integration of systems and information Coordinated approach to strengthening information security Proactive and informed planning for IT needs and funding
