Primary Functions: Increase Homeownership Opportunities, Promote Decent Affordable Housing, Strengthen Communities and Ensure Equal Opportunity in Housing.

3 June, 2007 Deborah Carter - HUD 3 The Impact of HUD Programs Since 1934, HUD's Federal Housing Administration helped more than 34 million people become homeowners HUD funds –and volunteer labor used to install a new public water systems in a rural area –used to support a community policing program –Used to support HEAD START programs HUD is participating in the Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH) –advancing the use of technology in the housing infrastructure throughout the country –creating energy efficient, disaster resistant, durable, and comfortable homes –America's first PATH Concept Home was recently completed, featuring more than 60 efficient, sustainable and flexible products and systems all in one affordable home
