Press Coverage in Ananda Bazar Patrika on 27/02/2013 A Special training program on Information Technology A special training program (SAKSHAM) on Information Technology has started at Vidyasagar University for educators from various affiliated colleges. Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Ranjan Chakrabarty inaugurated the program on Tuesday,26th Feb. Microsoft is venturing into trainings in the state of West Bengal via Saksham,. Saksham is based on MHRD’s NME-ICT.Information technology giant Microsoft empowers university educators under this program so that they can use modern technology to teach. Microsoft facilitators will also have a hands on session on each tool. This program will reach in 20,000 educational institutions and one lakh teachers all over the country. The inaugural session of this 10 day training was graced by Ms. Shivani Sahai, Programme Manager, Microsoft and Mr. Kaushik Biswas, Training Manager. Mr. Biswas said that Microsoft Saksham has been conducted so far in 23 universities and trained 600 professors. After completion of this training, teachers will be able to use new technology to make their class room innovative. For higher education a knowledge network will be created among the educational institutes, where the teachers can exchange their knowledge. Professor Ranjan Chakrabarty, Vice Chancellor, Vidyasagar University said that the teachers of this university will be benefitted through this training program.
