August 2010 Social Security Administration 3 Project Director’s Report August Completed reviews of ~3900 initial-level cases at the end of July Presented highlights of preliminary results (based on first 1,350 cases) to Research Subcommittee in July Developing hearings-level Data Collection Instrument (DCI) and protocol Pre-testing of DCI expected to occur in mid- September Reviews of hearings-level cases expected to begin by final week of September Occupational and Medical-Vocational Study

Conducted interviews with OIS officials at the United Nations- International Labor Organization (ILO), Canada, Australia, and New Zealand and obtained documents from them on the development and use of OIS

August 2010 Social Security Administration 6 Project Director’s Report August 2010 Social 66 Content Model Project staff has completed a synthesis of Panel content model recommendations, public comments, and the SSA User Needs Analysis (Summer 2009). Project staff, working with the OISD Workgroup and including the synthesis, has drafted a list of OIS data elements for testing.
