Vision Encourage sustainable practices and increase Ohio’s re-use and recycling of waste materials to stimulate economic growth. Mission Statement To provide leadership and financial and technical support to advance waste reduction, recycling, litter prevention, and market development to positively impact Ohio.

2014 Community Grant Commercial Recycling - $20,000 Construction & Demolition Debris Recycling - $50,000 Curbside Recycling - $200,000 Deconstruction Material Recycling - $100,000 Drop-Off Recycling - $100,000 Environmental Crime Taskforce - $10,000

2014 Community Grant Litter Prevention - $20,000 Material Recovery Facility (Public) - $150,000 Outreach Education & Training - $25,000 Pay As You Throw (PAYT) - $100,000 Special Venue Recycling - $50,000 Sponsorships - $2,000

2014 Community Grant Eligibility - an agency of the state, as established by the ORC, which may be a municipal corporation, county, township, village, state college or university, solid waste management district or authority, park district, health district and statewide recycling and litter prevention trade organization Fifty percent (50%) cash match must be available and expended on those allowable costs directly associated with the approved project Maximum grant period of 12 months

2014 Litter Clean-up & Tire Amnesty Grant KAB Annual Renewal - $500 KAB Certification Fee - $4,000 Litter Collection (Events) - $10,000 Tire Amnesty Collection (5, ,000 PTE) - $20,000 Tire Amnesty Collection (10, ,000 PTE) - $30,000 Tire Amnesty Collection (Above 20,000 PTE) - $40,000

2014 Litter Clean-up & Tire Amnesty Grant Eligibility - an agency of the state, as established by the ORC, which may be a municipal corporation, county, township, village, state college or university, solid waste management district or authority, health district, Keep Ohio Beautiful (KOB) affiliate, board of education, and non-profit organization Requires a ten percent (10%) cash match Maximum grant period of 12 months

2014 Market Development Grant Construction & Demolition Debris Recycling - $250,000 Glass Recycling - $250,000 Manufacturing & Processing - $250,000 Material Recovery Facility Recycling (Private) - $250,000 Mattress Recycling - $150,000 Organics Recycling - $250,000

2014 Market Development Grant Eligibility - an agency of the state, per the ORC, which may be a municipal corporation, county, township, village, state college or university and solid waste management district or authority. Applicants may sponsor multiple private sectors businesses or non- profit organizations, who are located and registered to conduct business in Ohio On hundred percent (100%) cash match must be available and expended on those allowable costs directly associated with the approved project Maximum grant period of 24 months

2014 Scrap Tire Grant Scrap Tire Manufacturing & Processing (over one million PTE) - $ 350,000 Scrap Tire Manufacturing & Processing (up to one million PTE) - $ 250,000 Scrap Tire Non-Paving Civil Engineering or Construction - $ 150,000

Grant Writing Reminders 1.Make sure your project matches the purpose of the grant. 2.Connect with your funding agency/organization. 3.Follow instructions! 4.Provide all data and materials requested. 5.Pre-review the grant before submission. 6.Verification proposal was received by grant agency/organization. 7.Never be afraid to ask questions.

Priority Materials aluminum construction and demolition debris deconstruction material electronics glass litter (2014 CG and LCTA, only) old corrugated cardboard organic (food waste) material paint paper plastics (#1 - #7) with focus on polystyrene scrap tires/scrap tire material (2014 LCTA & 2014 STG, only)

FUNDING CRITERIA Positive economic and environmental impact regionally or statewide Assurances that project will accomplish stated goals and is transferable Evolution into a permanent service/program without future Agency funding Past grant performance (project implementation, expenditures and reports) Consistency with local and state solid waste management plans Qualifies as an eligible project and includes one or more targeted materials Financial need of the applicant Availability of grant funds Submission of required forms and comprehensive responses No outstanding financial or compliance issues with the State of Ohio

ADDITIONAL 2014 LCTA FUNDING CRITERIA Complete an activity on public property or property which the grantee has received appropriate owner consent Grant funds will be used to supplement but not to replace existing funds All litter clean-up activities must involve the use of volunteers
