Goal 2 What data sources did we use to choose this goal? Terra Nova PSAT Teacher Perception Survey

G1 M1: 75% of 9th through 12th grade students will demonstrate a proficiency in writing in English Language Arts by June 2016 as measured by the local writing prompt assessment and rubric.

G1 M2: 75% of 10 th and 11 th grade students will demonstrate proficiency in writing in English Language Arts by June 2016 as measured by a score above the national average on the PSAT writing subtest.

G1 M3: 75% of 9 th through 11 th grade students will demonstrate a proficiency in writing in English Language Arts by June 2016 as measured by a score at or above the 50 th percentile on the Terra Nova Language subtest.

G2 M1: 75% of 9th through 12th grade students will demonstrate a proficiency in number sense in Mathematics by June 2016 as measured by an achievement of 75% or better on the locally developed school assessments (pre, mid, and post).

G2 M3: 75% of 9th through 11th grade students will demonstrate a proficiency in number sense in Mathematics by June 2016 as measured by a score at or above the 50th percentile on the Terra Nova Math subtest.

Specific Measurable Objective Findings: Objective Did not MeetMet/Exceeded G1.M19, 10, 11 (close in SS and E), 12 (WS) 12 (SS and E) G1.M210, 11None G1.M3109, 11 G2.M19, 10, 11, 12 G2.M210, 11 G2.M311 (close)9, 10

Overall Success 1.All grade levels increased MoY to the EoY in all areas! 2.Terra Nova scores rose from SY to SY in 9 th Language and 10 th Math. 3.Practices and strategies that helped students improve include SAC Seminars, school-wide formative assessment, academic tutoring, monitoring D/F list, differentiated instruction, FLIP strategy for Math, DOL, online math instant feedback, SMART Response System.

Overall Areas of Need 1.No grade levels decreased BoY to the EoY. 2.On the PSAT Mathematics subtest, we have yet to make our goal over the past four years. The same can be said of the Writing subtest (although the scores are higher). 3.What is lacking in practices and is preventing our children from excelling includes additional Terra Nova interventions, revisiting basic math skills, use of standardized language across the curriculum so students know the goals and strategies and can articulate them, and focusing on the 9 th grade transition to high school through 9 th grade panels.

Action to take Terra Nova Interventions SAC Seminar 9 th Grade panels Standardized use of language across the curriculum so students know the goals and strategies and can articulate them. IMPORTANT: Whatever action steps you develop should be entered into ASSIST as Strategies or Activities
