Objective Guidance You should have four objectives for each goal: How you will improve the percentage of students meeting the DoDEA goal for students scoring at or above the 50 th percentile. How you will improve the percentage of students meeting the DoDEA goal for students scoring at or below the 25th percentile. How you will improve the average or met standard for each of the remaining assessments for the goal.

Read the information and click “Next”

DoDEA Performance Measure 1.1 75% of students in grades 3-11 will score in the top two quarters on the system-wide, standardized assessment in math, science, reading, language arts and social studies.

Select the correct statement The only schools who should check “No” are those that ONLY have students in grades taking the TN (Grades 3-9). If you have students in Grades SS-2 nd or 10-12, you should select “Yes” to specify student groups.

Select the category(ies) to specific and then the specific groups. For this objective, only select grades taking the TN Assessment.

Select “A percentage”. If 75% of your students are NOT scoring at or above the 50 th percentile, In the second box indicate 75%. If 75% or more of your students are performing at this level, continue to increase the percentage.

1. Even if your goal is across the curriculum, you must select one subject area for measuring growth toward the goal. 2. Select “demonstrate a proficiency”. 3. Type “by scoring at the 50 th percentile or higher”

Identify the assessment and for this objective the Terra Nova subtest.

Select a date to meet this objective and click “Preview”.

Continue this process To write the objective for 5% or less of students scoring in the bottom quartile, follow the previous directions with the change listed on the next slides. There are two ways of wording the objective: 5% or less will score BELOW the 25 th percentile 95% or more will score at or ABOVE the 25 th percentile

OPTION A: Select “A percentage”. If 5% or fewer of your students are NOT scoring below the 25 th percentile, In the second box indicate 5%. If 5% or fewer of your students are performing at this level, continue to decrease the percentage.

OPTION B: Select “A percentage”. If 95% or more of your students are NOT scoring at or ABOVE the 25 th percentile, In the second box indicate 95%. If 95% or more of your students are scoring at or ABOVE the 25 th percentile, In the second box indicate a number greater than 95%.

If using the same strategy for the objective, click “Choose an existing strategy”, then select the strategy name. Click “Add Selected Strategy”. The system will link the strategy and all related activities to the new objective.
