Nova Transition House Safe shelter for women and their children who are fleeing abuse 10 Bed facility private location at Richmond Client receive information, emotional support, practical assistance with health, childcare, education, and advocacy Opportunity to learn about options available, safety planning, financial & legal resources, custody, peacebonds and restraining orders Staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 10 Different languages including English, Cantonese and Punjabi

Crisis Lines Professional volunteers provide emotional support and information for people in distress from 8:00am until midnight daily Depression, anxiety, loneliness, interpersonal relationship problems, financial, mental health issues, suicide, LGTB Provide crisis intervention and referral information Crisis Line also provides triage and direct links for callers to Richmond Mental Health Emergency Services We marked a milestone of 10,000 calls annually on the crisis lines

Pro Bono Law Clinics Practicing lawyers provide free legal assistance in all areas of the law to people who cannot afford a lawyer and do not qualify for legal aid. Lawyers do not represent clients in court, but do provide ongoing legal advice and help clients prepare for court. Clinics cover Family Law, Immigration Law, Criminal law, Personal Injury Law and Civil Law matters. By appointment only.

Community Engagement (Community Education) PIECE OF MIND WORKSHOPS: LIFE EDUCATION FOR YOUTH Piece of Mind Workshops build awareness of social, emotional, and mental health issues that are common in the lives of young people and give practical tips for reaching out and finding support when these issues begin to surface. Workshops are delivered in high school classrooms by professionally trained volunteers. Each workshop focuses on a key topic and is targeted to a particular age group. Topics Include: SUICIDE AWARENESS STRESS MANAGEMENT STRESS MANAGEMENT & SUICIDE PREVENTION FOR ESL CLASSES TEEN RELATIONSHIP ABUSE PREVENTION (TRAP) HOW TO LISTEN, HOW TO HELP EMPLOYMENT LAW FINANCIAL LITERACY
