Learning Objectives 2 WORK-BASED LEARNING VIRTUAL CAMPUS Define Social Networking. Identify the “Dos” of Social Networking. Identify the “Don’ts” of Social Networking. Show understanding of objectives by completing a True/False quiz. Create a handout/brochure to use in class discussions.

Pretest: True or False 1.Social networking links people around the world. 2.Employers actively use social networking sites to hire candidates. 3.You don’t have to update your profile regularly. 4.It is alright to make negative comments about your previous employer. 5.Review all personal information disclosed and pictures uploaded in your profile frequently. 3 WORK-BASED LEARNING VIRTUAL CAMPUS

What is “social networking”? Online network of contacts. Links between groups. Global interconnection. Form of self-expression. 4 WORK-BASED LEARNING VIRTUAL CAMPUS

What are employers looking for in your profile? Are the candidates — A good cultural fit? Professional? Truthful? Qualified? 5 WORK-BASED LEARNING VIRTUAL CAMPUS
