4 Before calling for an interview Prepare a script – Know who you are calling – Identify yourself and why you are calling – Request an appointment – Know your schedule – Confirm appointment date, time – Thank prospective employer 4 WORK-BASED LEARNING VIRTUAL CAMPUS

6 Should you leave a message or voicemail? ALWAYS leave a message Leave the following information – First and Last name – Calling for interview – Student in WBL program at Syosset HS – Home phone number – Cell phone number 6 WORK-BASED LEARNING VIRTUAL CAMPUS

7 Is there a difference between a message and voicemail? If message left with person, get – Person’s first and Last name – Job title – Their direct phone number – To verify you called If leaving voicemail – Speak slowly and clearly – Spell name if necessary 7 WORK-BASED LEARNING VIRTUAL CAMPUS
