Present Continuous (المضارع المستمر) يستخدم المضارع المستمر: للتحدث عن اعمال يقوم بها الشخص في نفس لحظة الكلام (الآن). Use of Present Continuous…. We use Present Continuous (Progressive) to talk about actions that are happening right now. For example: I am studying right now. He is using a computer now.

Present Continuous Structure ( بنية المضارع المستمر) You They are + (v1+ ing) (They are going to school right now) We I am + (v1+ ing) (I am watching TV now) He She is + (v1+ ing) (He is going to work now) It Present Continuous Structure ( بنية المضارع المستمر)

Look at the pictures and Try to make a full sentence with Present Continuous…

She is teaching the students . teach- students What is the teacher doing right now? She is teaching the students .

He is reading English book. read - English book What is he doing now? He is reading English book.

Think now, how can you make the negative forms…. حالة نفي الجملة....

She is teaching the students. She is not teaching the students.

Think now, how can you make the questions forms….

She is teaching the students. Is she teaching the students? Yes, She is.

Are they watching TV? No, They are not They are watching TV. Are they watching TV? No, They are not

We use am / are / is with present con.. Questions for Present Continuous tense …. We use am / are / is with present con.. Are with they / you / we / Is with She / he / it Am with I Example: Are you going to school now?

Present Continuous To talk about actions that are happening right now. Subjects + Positive - Negative Question I you / we / they he / she / it I am going now I am not going out. Are you going out? They are studying right now. You are not going out. Are you studying now? He is going shopping. He is not staying in his apartment. Is he staying home right now?

run => runn + ing running stop stopp + ing stopping plan Some verbs change their spelling when "ing" is added to them. 1. Verbs ending with "consonant preceded by one of these vowels: (a,u,e,i,o) and with one syllable we double the last consonant as the following Examples: run => runn + ing running stop stopp + ing stopping plan plann + ing planning begin beginn + ing beginning But we don’t double the last consonant if it more than one Syllable: open => open + ing opening visit visit + ing visiting listen listen + ing listening happen happen + ing happening

Some verbs change their spelling when "ing" is added to them. 2. Verbs ending with "e" When a verb ends with the letter e, we first remove it, and then add ing. take => tak + ing taking make mak + ing making dance danc + ing dancing write writ + ing writing 3. Verbs ending with "ie" When a verb ends with the letters ie, we change them into y, and add ing. lie => ly + ing lying die dy + ing dying
