What is the Greenhouse Effect Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere trap the (heat) given off by the Earth’s surface Causes Gas molecules to vibrate more  more heat To have Constant temperature: incoming solar energy = outgoing solar energy

Greenhouse gases (GHG’s) Water Vapor (a lot, varies by location) Carbon Dioxide (~50 %) Methane (~16%) Nitrous Oxide (~ 6%) CFC’s (~20%)
