Preparation for May-2013 Review of UCN Beamline March 27, Date: May 2-3, 2013 Review Committee finalized Scope – Overall concept, focusing on 2014 Shutdown Work

UCN Facility (BL1U) 2 nEDM Experiment Region

BL1U May-2013 Review (Scope) 3 nEDM Experiment Region Focus: 2014 Shutdown / Installation 1) Overview (Facilty, Schedule, etc.) 2) BL1U (Layout, service/control infrastructure) 3) Kicker and Septum 4) 1UB2 (vacuum box) 5) Vacuum 6) Diagnostics (1AUM5, 1UM6/1UBB2) 7) Timing monitor (1AUM4) 8) Shielding plug

Alignment to ½ mm, especially our tilted 1BVB2 magnet and vacuum 'tubes' in the Septum Magnet. (BL) Paint blocks as well as floor? (Plant/BL) Plan to tilt the 1BVB2 magnet. (BL) Put in piping for cooling lines for Target and Liq D 2 O under shielding to sub-basement. (Plant) Plan for 'hand-pack' around 1A and 1U 'plug' penetrations. Pre-fabricate pieces? (Plant) Understanding signal cabling in Vault/Tunnel (especially when it is attached to the ceiling or wall made of shielding blocks. Apparently this belongs to many different groups and not just Controls. (Diag/Vac/Safety/Controls) List of final tests to be done before “sealing up” 1A Tunnel. Undiscussed UCN Issues for 2014 S/D
